The Stem Cell Research Center was established on May 17, 2011 , through the diligent efforts of faculty members of Golestan University of Medical Sciences. The establishment was made possible by the financial and moral support of the Stem Cell Sciences and Technologies Council (under the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology) and the approval of the University’s Deputy of Research and Technology. The center subsequently received its internal institutional approval on December 27, 2011.

It is our vision that, through the collective efforts of our colleagues and university officials, and in alignment with our strategic plan and national upstream documents—specifically focusing on priority areas designated for Macro-Region One (Gene Therapy and Cell Therapy)—the center will achieve its full potential. Our mission is to provide high-quality services to the medical community, patients, and researchers by leveraging cutting-edge knowledge and advanced technologies, thereby acting as a pioneer in applied research to address the healthcare challenges of society.

The overarching goal of this center is to realize the motto: “From Bench to Bedside: Translating Stem Cell Research into Clinical Practice.”
